Filters® and Equinor for the Johan Sverdrup project

20 July 2018
Filters® and Equinor for the Johan Sverdrup project

The collaboration between Filters® and Equinor (formerly Statoil) continues in the development of the Johan Sverdrup oil field project.

Located in the North Sea, the field consists of two discoveries, Avaldsnes and Aldous, the largest ever made in the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The Johan Sverdrup project is being developed in phases.
The first phase consists in the construction of four bridge connected platforms and three subsea installations.
The second phase is expected to start in 2022.

During the first phase, the field will produce up to 380.000 barrels of oil per day, which will rise to 650.000 barrels of oil per day when fully commissioned.
By 2040, Johan Sverdrup will account for more than half of Norway’s oil production.
